ABSTRACT
The American Trucking Associations' (ATA) Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC) — through its S.11 Sustainability & Environmental Technologies Study Group's Transport Refrigeration Energy Optimization Task Force in order to obtain information regarding energy usage among refrigerated fleets.

The total number of responding TMC fleet members was 20. The relatively small number of fleets responding to this survey did not yield statistically significant results over the relatively large number of questions and the factors within them for which input was sought,  

However, the results do create a comprehensive sample of temperature controlled fleets, operational factors affecting energy consumption and concerns of the fleets. Additional research is indicated if more statistically significant results are to be obtained in future. q
