Tech Talk With TMC Celebrates 15thAnniversary with Dave Nemo Entertainment

ARLINGTON, Va. —This month marks the 15th anniversary of “Tech Talk with TMC,” produced jointly by the American Trucking Associations’ Technology & Maintenance Council and long-time trucking radio personality Dave Nemo. “Tech Talk with TMC” has been a weekly segment on satellite radio's The Dave Nemo Showsince June 2005.

Each Tuesday, TMC representatives appear on The Dave Nemo Show, covering a range of technical issues of high interest to the trucking industry.  Guest speakers take live calls from SiriusXM's "RoadDog Trucking Channel"audience, heard on SiriusXM Channel146.   The 15th Anniversary episode will be broadcast on June 16ndat 10:05 a.m. (eastern). The subject of the segment will be Tire Maintenance and will feature show veteran Al Cohn, director of new market development, Pressure Systems International (PSI).

TMC Executive Director Robert Braswellappears on the program each week, along with a veteran TMC member covering issues involving maintenance, inspection and specification of brakes, on-board vehicle electronics and electrical systems, engines, seating, tires and wheels, trailers, transmissions, chassis and suspensions.

“We're thrilled to be able to present vital information from these experts to our trucking audience,” Nemo said.  “Over the past 15 years, response to TMC's presence on the show in the past has been overwhelmingly positive and it's great to have the members on the air on a weekly basis covering everything from the shiny side to the rubber side and everything in between. I'm also very glad to see listeners take advantage of the special Owner Operator membership category.  With input from these seasoned professionals and TMC's vast pool of knowledge, it's a real winning combination.”

TMC members make up the industry's foremost experts when it comes to on- and off-board truck technology, and the Council shares its collective experience and knowledge with listeners.  “We think it's a great opportunity to reach a segment of the industry that may not previously have been exposed to TMC and to hear from the folks who literally 'wrote the book' on heavy vehicle equipment and systems maintenance and application,” said Braswell.

By providing leadership support and opportunities to collaborate, TMC helps members develop the industry’s best practices that address the critical truck technology and maintenance issues that have the greatest impact on truck fleets. For more than 60 years, TMC’s member-driven Recommended Maintenance and Engineering Practices have been setting the standards that help trucking companies specify and maintain their fleets more effectively.
