TMC Opens 2026 Fall Meeting & National Technician Skills Competitions

Event Features TMCSuperTech and Technical Standards Development

Pittsburgh, Pa.—Today, American Trucking Associations’ Technology & Maintenance Council opened TMC’s 2026 Fall Meeting & National Technician Skills Competitions here at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center.

“For seven decades, TMC has worked to raise professional and technical standards for the trucking industry,” said TMC Executive Director Robert Braswell. “This fall meeting is an important part of that mission – not just to test the nation’s best technicians – but to have the opportunity to discuss and learn about the latest advances in truck technology in our myriad task forces and educational sessions.”

This year’s theme is “The Convergence of Technology & Maintenance” and features TMC’s customary slate of educational sessions, task force meetings, technical sessions, and management sessions.  Additionally, the event will include the Council’s multi-track professional and student technician competitions, as well as The AI Summit, a separate educational track covering the application of artificial intelligence (AI) to commercial vehicle maintenance. The AI Summit is sponsored by PCS.

The week kicks off with TMCSuperTech 2026. TMC’s Technician & Educator Committee is welcoming more than 100 techs to compete in one of two tracks in Pittsburgh — professional and student. TMCSuperTech 2026 will feature a track for professional vehicle technicians. TMCFutureTech will test post-secondary graduate students. The competitions showcase the high degree of skill and knowledge shown everyday by trucking industry technicians. It is trucking’s only industry-wide competition dedicated to honoring technician professionalism.

“We’re excited to be focusing on strategies to ensure future success during our 2026 Fall Meeting agenda,” said TMC General Chairman and Treasurer Mark Kennedy, corporate vice president of equipment, Knight Swift Transportation. “Developing new and existing talent in fleet maintenance and its management is vital to improving operational safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction, especially in this challenging economic climate.”
