TMCSuperTech
Since 2005, the TMCSuperTech National Technician Skills Competition has been like the ‘super bowl’ – it is North America’s premier skills competition for professional commercial vehicle technicians. The event is organized by TMC’s Professional Technician Development Committee.
TMCSuperTech contestants come from all segments of the trucking industry, and many are state, regional or corporate champions. The competition is a two-day event, and technicians compete for top honors and valuable prizes in heavy-duty vehicle, trailer, and light/medium vehicle tracks.
TMC Leaders of Tomorrow
The need for vibrant leadership is at the core of every organization striving for continuous improvement and excellence. The Technology & Maintenance Council “TMC Leaders of Tomorrow Leadership Program” identifies and cultivates the next generation of TMC leaders and advances the needs of the transportation industry through professional development opportunities. Talented, young fleet professionals who join the program become part of TMC’s foundation for building a better and stronger trucking industry.
Candidates for the program must:
Be employed by a TMC member company
Be nominated by direct supervisor or company executive
Commit to attend four scheduled meetings
TMC Silver Spark Plug
Established in 1968, the Silver Spark Plug Award is TMC’s highest honor. The award is given to Council members who have:
Given five years active service in support of TMC leadership and/or activities, preferably technically oriented.
Earned the respect of their peers, clearly demonstrated industry leadership, and hold current Full Member or Associate Member status.
Contributed new ideas, practices, or innovations in the management and maintenance of commercial motor vehicle technology.
To date, TMC has bestowed 223 Silver Spark Plug awards.

Other TMC Awards
Recognized Associates - Recognized Associate Awards are presented to individuals in recognition of their contributions in support of TMC projects or services to the industry.
Gerri Murphy Membership Award - This award is presented to those who have demonstrated exemplary efforts toward building TMC membership.
Peggy Fisher Study Group Leadership Award - This award is presented to an individual for distinguished leadership as Study Group Chairman and outstanding leadership and contributions to TMC and the transport industry.
Study Group Secretary Award - This award is presented to those dedicated TMC volunteer members who have demonstrated exemplary efforts while serving as a TMC Study Group Secretary.
Uncle Darrel Mentor Award - This award is presented to those dedicated TMC volunteer members who have demonstrated exemplary efforts while serving as a TMC Mentor.
TMC Scholarships
TMC is proud to offer many scholarships and awards to support current and future fleet maintenance technicians and supervisors. Full details of each scholarship can be found by clicking on the appropriate link.
TMC/PTDC UNOH Scholarship Application
The amount of scholarship applies to tuition, up to $20,000 in College of Technologies (Automotive/ Diesel Technology) and/or College of Business (Specialized Studies in Automotive Management) to all incoming new students (present students excluded).
TMC PTDC/WyoTech Scholarship Application
Scholarship is awarded in the amount of $12,500 towards 1,500 clock hours (9 months) attendance to WyoTech, located in Laramie, Wyoming.
TMC PTDC/Lincoln Tech Scholarship Application
Half-scholarship is awarded for a 1200-1560-hour program, depending on location, attendance to one of six Lincoln Technical Institute/Lincoln College of Technology located in: Denver, CO; Indianapolis, IN; Nashville, TN; Grand Prairie, TX; E. Windsor, CT; S. Plainfield, NJ. S
